Great Resources!

Jan at Sleeping Baby has made up handouts regarding the safety of Bag Slings.

So has Susan at Sweet Pickles. Print them out and keep them with you.

Great article with pics. Susan is working on a handout also.

Just for reference, here is the official CPSC release regarding slings.
http://www.cpsc.gov/CPSCPUB/PREREL/prhtml10/10165.html

They did not make a distinction as to which slings are dangerous, which is too bad. So it's our job to educate. Use the handouts we linked above. Be a great example by wearing your baby properly and safely.

Babywearing Safety

There is a lot of misinformation going around right now about babywearing being unsafe. We are more than happy that CSPC is going to issue a warning about the "bag" slings. But they're also aapparently including warnings about all slings. It is important to be aware of what slings and carriers are safe. Babywearing when done correctly is incredibly safe and oh so fulfilling.

GREAT Article from the NY Times:

These are awesome cards to print out for if someone questions you or if you see someone babywearing in an unsafe way:

Car Seats are not for constant use.....

This is a great article from Mothering Magazine. While car seats are an awesome thing to help keep our children safe, they should not replace a child being held. Babywearing is a great tool for use when out and about.
